Women and happiness

Economists from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania recently examined the happiness of American women and concluded that women are less happy today than they were 35 years ago, both “absolutely and relative to men.” In the 1970s that gender gap was reversed; women typically reported higher subjective well-being than men did.
